Heena Kapadia



Ms. Kapadia has worked in the field of employment law for over 25 years. She spent the first eight years of her practice representing large corporations and other institutional clients in employment matters. Since then, her practice has focused on representing and enforcing the rights of employees in a broad array of employment related matters. In March of 2014, she opened her own law firm serving clients located throughout Fairfield, New Haven, Hartford and Middlesex counties.

Ms. Kapadia has litigated in the Connecticut state and federal courts discrimination claims based on gender, pregnancy, age, race, disability, marital status, national origin and sexual orientation, and claims involving wrongful termination, violation of the family and medical leave act, whistle blower retaliation, wage and hour laws, invasion of privacy, constructive discharge, defamation, breach of contract and the constitutional rights of governmental employees. Ms. Kapadia has also litigated claims before various administrative agencies such as the Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities, the Equal Employment Opportunities Commission, the Connecticut Department of Labor, the Freedom of Information Commission, the Office of Public Hearings, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration and the Office of State Ethics.

Ms. Kapadia’s practice also involves providing counseling and advice to employees in the management and resolution of difficult ongoing employment situations. Having had the benefit of representing employers and employees, Ms. Kapadia has the unique ability to assess and evaluate employment situations and conflicts from both the employers’ and employees’ viewpoints. Ms. Kapadia has also assisted employees in resolving disputes through the mediation and arbitration processes.

Ms. Kapadia’s clients are from all walks of life and include executives, physicians, attorneys, sales professionals, nurses and hourly employees. Every client is treated with respect and courtesy and given equal attention.

Ms. Kapadia is a member of the New Haven County Bar Association, the Fairfield County Bar Association and the Connecticut Employment Lawyers Association. She received her law degree with honors in May of 1992 from the University of Connecticut School of Law and also served in 1992 as a clerk to the United States Magistrate Judge Arthur Latimer for the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut. She has been admitted to practice law in the State of Connecticut since the fall of 1992.
